We're excited to announce that Rypple gets even better this week with Social Goals 2.0!  We've reinvented our social goals by taking the industry-leading Objectives and Key Results (or "OKR") model and making it a part of Rypple. Here's a preview of the coming enhancements and how they will make your Rypple even more awesome - as well as how they will affect your current content.

What's new in Social Goals 2.0?

1. Rypple's new approach helps your team to collaborate and get things done

  • Based on the OKR model - "Objectives and Key Results"
  • Connect with experts company-wide by inviting them to contribute and commit to any public Objective
  • When a new objective is created, team members added to the Objective are given the option to commit or decline from the Objective page
  • When you are invited to an Objective, you will receive an email notification in addition to the notification on your "Your Actions" page
  • After you commit to an Objective, you can add Key Results, Actions and Status updates to that Objective. You can also set Actions for yourself (even as an uncommitted contributor) to any public Objective
  • If you decline to commit to an Objective, you will appear as a contributor who has declined to contribute

2. A new "Your Profile" page that showcases your Objectives and Key Results achieved

  • Current Public Objectives
  • Your Completed Objectives
  • Completed Key Results on which you have completed an Action

3. A new tab for managers to view their Team's Public Objectives
  • Gain instant visibility into your teams's Objectives with the new "My Team's Objectives"
  • "My Team's Objectives" tab is available for all managers who have direct reporting relationships defined in Rypple

Getting Started!

Social Goals 2.0 will be incrementally rolled out to all Premium and Phenomenal accounts starting Dec 14, 2011.

What happens to my current goals and actions?

When your Social Goals 2.0 is enabled for your account, all of your existing Goals will remain in the system.

  • Your Goal name is now your Objective name
  • If you had set a Metric, it will become a Key Results on the Objective
  • If no Metric was created, a Key Result in the same name as the Objective will be created
  • Objectives and Key Results now show on your connections profile page
  • Managers who have direct reporting relationships set up will have a new tab called "My Team's Objectives"
